The nose has limited blood supply, and certain arteries (particularly the dorsal nasal artery) can be inadvertently injected, potentially causing skin necrosis or — extremely rarely — vision loss.
These risks are nearly eliminated when the procedure is performed by a board-certified medical provider with deep anatomical knowledge, slow injection technique, aspirating before injecting, and using cannulas where appropriate. Most patients see results lasting 12–18 months, sometimes up to 2 years. The nose moves very little, so filler metabolizes slowly. Touch-ups every 12–18 months maintain the result.
